Subaru gave the Wilderness trims higher ground clearance and a revised drive train for enhanced off-road capability. Performance

The new Subaru Outback Wilderness comes with a turbocharged 260-horsepower four-cylinder engine that gives it plenty of get-up-and-go. The new Subaru Forester Wilderness is powered by a 182-horsepower flat-four-cylinder motor that also gets the job done. Both models come with Symmetrical all-wheel drive and an enhanced dual-function X-Mode® traction control system. These features enable the Outback and Forester to climb steep hills and crawl over rocky landscapes. The Outback Wilderness edition has up to 9.5 inches of ground clearance, while the Forester Wilderness maxes out at 9.2 inches of clearance.

Exterior/Interior

The new Subaru Outback Wilderness is decked out with black exterior trim along with Anodized Copper finish accents. Not to be outdone, the new Subaru Forester Wilderness has tough exterior cladding, matte black alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, and blacked-out exterior trim.

Both the new Subaru Outback Wilderness and the Subaru Forester Wilderness come with StarTex® water-repellent upholstery that's a cinch to keep clean when you're out on adventures. The Outback Wilderness is a wagon with 75.7 cubic feet of total cargo space. The Forester Wilderness is a compact SUV with 60/40 split-back rear seats and 74.3 cubic feet of cargo room with its back seats folded.

Tech Features

Both the new Subaru Outback Wilderness and the Subaru Forester Wilderness feature the STARLINK® Multimedia system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration.

The Outback Wilderness model comes with an 11.6-inch touch screen, while the Forester Wilderness trim has an 8-inch infotainment display. Both vehicles come standard with EyeSight® driver assist technology to help you avoid accidents.
