North End Subaru Loves To Help

Liam McKenna is a US youth bobsledder. He is one of the youngest to compete on an international level. He has worked hard to qualify for a spot on the Youth Bobsled National Team to  represent the United States at the 2024 Youth Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.

North End Subaru is proud to support Liam by providing:

  • Gas for travel to Lake Placid for training
  • Oil Change and multippoint inspections to ensure a safe ride to and from practices
  • As well as donations to his Go-Fund Me for his trip to South Korea to continue his path to qualify for events.

Sterling Animal Shelter

The mission of Animal Shelter Inc. is to operate a no-kill animal shelter with no time or age restrictions. The shelter provides humane sheltering and high quality medical care for stray, unwanted, abused and neglected animals.  These animals are sheltered in our facilities and foster homes until they find loving, lifelong homes.

We always promote responsible pet ownership and try to improve the quality of life for the animals and people in our community. Our Shelter is supported entirely by donations and fees for services provided.  We do not receive support from from federal, state or local governments. Our on-site veterinary clinic provides care for 3,000 animals per year.  We offer low cost spay, neuter, and vaccine clinics for the animals in our community.  We also work closely with other humane societies and rescue organizations across the country and even Puerto Rico.

Our shelter is a clean, well run, family friendly facility, with innovative programs that will improve animal and human lives by raising the bar for animal care in our shelter and in our community.

Boys & Girls Club Of Leominster, Lunenburg, and Fitchburg

Since 2001, the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster has worked in youth development with young people ages 8-18, from many economic, social and family circumstances. In August 2008, the organization consolidated its separate Fitchburg and Leominster clubhouses to a single location on the Fitchburg-Leominster line and received its charter from the Boys & Girls Club of America that December.

It is situated in a former private school on conservation land in a residential setting-a unique site for a Boys & Girls Club clubhouse. In addition to the 8 acres owned by the Club, the Doyle Conservation Center (operated by the Trustees of the Reservations) provides more than 160 additional acres on which to play and study. The facility itself is well equipped with numerous classrooms, meeting places, a full gymnasium, and a full Teen Center.

In the fall of 2015, we started the Boys & Girls Club of Gardner, a pilot program currently serving 20 children in an afterschool program housed at Gardner High School. For more information about the Gardner Clubhouse, visit our webpage.

North Star Family Services

  • North Star believes that most families that are experiencing homelessness are very stressed and traumatized by the experience.
  • North Star attempts to provide a trauma sensitive environment that:
            - Listens to families' needs.
            - Provides support and resources.
            - Ensures a safe, secure and clean-living space.
            - Fosters age appropriate growth for children.

  • North Star believes homelessness doesn't discriminate so anyone could experience the loss of their home very easily through loss of a job, loss of a significant other, medical issues, accident, etc.
  • North Star believes that progress often comes through small successes and repeated practice.
  • Additionally, we believe in forgiveness and realize that everyone makes errors in judgement in life priorities.

Lunenburg Little League

FAQ:

Q: What equipment does the league provide for my player?

A: Every player gets a team shirt and hat or visor. Coaches have bats, helmets and catcher's gear of a common size. It is strongly recommended that players purchase their own helmets. For softball players, a full cage helmet is required. Parents are responsible for providing a glove, cleats, socks, pants and for boys -- protective cup. Additional equipment players can purchase are bats and their own catching gear.

Q: When will practices start?

A: This is weather dependent. The fields must be free of snow and playable (i.e. not muddy). Coaches hope to be able to use fields the first week of April.

Q: Can I request a coach or player to be on a team with my player?

A: For baseball Minors and Majors, no requests are taken. All players are drafted to a team. For all other categories, requests will be considered.

Baseball Majors: Games played at Powell Field located in Marshall Park off Rt 2A, Mass Ave
